Scope

The Amy Johnson Building was named after a Pioneering Pilot. Amy Johnson was the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia in 1930. Amy Johnson was a Student at the University of Sheffield. The Amy Johnson Building is located in the busy Mappin area of the University of Sheffield Campus.
 

Full building scaffold was installed. Full façade clean, removal of 181 timber sash windows and install of new replacement Aluminium Heritage Profile Windows. New Alutec gutters and downpipes were installed throughout. Install of new external lighting.

 

All the works were undertaken whilst the building was live with staff & students. Floors were phased from Levels D-A, meaning as one section handed over another one commenced .

 

Newell’s Projects were privileged to be awarded the project of refurbishing the Amy Johnson Building to a breathtaking conclusion that has drawn campus wide attention from staff, students working in the building and the general public.
